Course Content

Holistic Massage Unit 2

• History & Origins of Massage
• 5 Swedish Classical Movements
• Effects & Benefits of Massage
• Building an appropriate treatment plan
• Appropriate Aftercare and Homecare advice
• Client Consultation and Appropriate Legislation
• Business Awareness
• Professional conduct
• Contraindications to treatment
• Understanding the importance of and how to conduct follow-up treatments
• Knowledge of  Other Complementary therapies available
• Planning an appropriate treatment programme for a client

Anatomy & Physiology Unit 1 – completed in Distance Learning format
Learners receive a comprehensive resource pack. This unit is covered at a students own pace, however advice is given on the order in which the systems should be studied. As this course unit is being completed in conjunction with the Holistic Massage Diploma, students have 8 months in which to complete their anatomy & physiology studies. Full Tutor support is given throughout.

Business Awareness and Professional Conduct Unit 22

• Understanding professionalism in the beauty and complementary therapies industry
• Insurance and professional indemnity
• Advertising and Marketing
• Business set-up
• Business laws and legislation
• Understanding basic first aid and the importance of an accident book

Course Structure

One Sunday per month

Commencing May 9th 2021

Monthly classes are as follows:

• May 9th, May 30th, June 20th, July 11th, July 25th, August 15th, August 29th and September 19th

Award

Students of this course work towards an internationally recognised diploma, awarded by ITEC.

• ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage

Method of Assessment

The Beauty Institute prides itself on its continuous assessment. This allows both our tutors, and our students to carefully monitor their progress throughout the course.

Students complete at the end of the course:

• Practical examinations
• Theory examinations

Students complete throughout the course:

• Case Studies – five different clients will each be treated four times
